Without the creation of NATO the North Atlantic Treaty Organization that is responsible for the security of North America and Europe and Europe primarily, Germany would’ve been occupied by either the United States or Soviet Union. And perhaps still occupied by America or Russia tod
ay unless some other agreement or arrangement was put in place to protect Germany from some new authoritarian regime coming him to replace the Nazis.

But NATO was created, but instead of having a United Federal Germany, Germany was split up with a Federal Republic in the West and a Communist Republic in the East. Until they reunified in 1989 and now there’s one Federal Republic of Germany. That is the economic and perhaps now even the diplomatic power of Europe. With the fourth largest economy in the world and the only large European state with a strong vibrant economy today. All of the other big Euro states are dealing with high debts, deficits, recessions, high unemployment and growing poverty.

What NATO did along with the European Union and the Marshall Plan was give Europe a chance to breathe and catch its breath and rebuild themselves. Without having to worry about some new civil war breaking out or some new authoritarian regime emerging in Western Europe and give the Europe the ability to develop. And not just rebuild themselves from World War II, but develop themselves and develop their economies and diplomatic relations, people and rebuild their militaries. And what happened as a result was a free social democratic Europe in the West that was thriving. And a totalitarian authoritarian suffocating Russia in the East. Where people would literally escape from their own countries.

Jayne Mansfield interview by Wim Sonneveld

Source:Cult Till Camp– Hollywood Babydoll Jayne Mansfield, being interviewed by Wim Sonneveld in 1957.

Source:The New Democrat

“In 1957, Jayne Mansfield came to the Netherlands to promote her movie “Will success spoil Rock Hunter?” (Dutch title “Oh, kus me zo”). She was interviewed by Dutch actor and comedian Wim Sonneveld for VARA television. It was broadcasted as part of the television show “Mensen, dingen, nu” (People, things, now) on 11 October 1957. (English spoken, no subtitles).”

From Cult Till Camp

Holland has a lot of English speakers, at least today and perhaps back then as well. Something like 9-10 Dutch speak English at least as their second language. And can travel to Britain Scandinavia, Canada and America just speaking English, because of how well they speak it and understand it. And most of this interview was done in English with Wim Sonneveld speaking it very well. And then he would do a little translation for Holland. And I guess Jayne Mansfield was over in Holland promoting Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter. A movie that she did with the great comedic actor Tony Randall in 1956.

In Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter, Jayne Mansfield essentially plays herself. A very young and hot starlet named Rita Marlowe who has very similar characteristics as the real-life Jayne Mansfield. A hot .baby-face goddess who is somewhat immature and looks and acts a lot younger than she actually is. Who portrays herself in real-life as a dumb blond or blonde bimbo, but behind the scenes is a lot sharper than that. And knows exactly what she wants and how to get it. Which is to be taken seriously as an entertainer. And not just someone who looks great and needs those looks to be successful in life.

And that is how Rita Marlowe played by Jayne and Rock Hunter played by Tony Randall connect. Because Rock Hunter is an up in-coming advertiser whose looking that one big client that can move him up in his company. And he meets Rita Marlowe whose in New York looking for that person to give her the positive publicity and image that she’s looking for. This is a pretty funny and entertaining movie. But hardly a stretch or hard role for Jayne to play in this movie. Because the Rita Marlowe character is very similar to the real-life Jayne Mansfield.

German-American
Source:Ask Ideas– “Proud To Be German American. Happy German-American Day.”

Source:The New Democrat

“ON A snow-covered bluff overlooking the Sheboygan river stands the Waelderhaus, a faithful reproduction of an Austrian chalet. It was built by the Kohler family of Wisconsin in the 1920s as a tribute to the homeland of their father, John Michael Kohler, who had immigrated to America in 1854 at the age of ten.”

From The Economist

“WGTE Preview: See how German immigrants helped bring this region to life. Beginning in the 1830s and continuing into the 20th century, thousands of Germans immigrated to northwest and west central Ohio, clearing the land and draining the swamp for farming, establishing businesses, and building churches that formed the hearts of their neighborhoods.”

Cornerstones_ German Americans

Source:WGTE– German-Americans in Ohio.

From WGTE

I think I completely agree with this article from The Economist that I just read. Which is saying something because I don’t agree with them on everything. I tend to like their information and analysis, but tend to disagree with their solutions. They are a center-right publication after all. But as a German-American myself, as the name Erik Schneider would indicate, an asteroid sized clue there, we do tend to go unnoticed as an ethnic group in America. And I’m not sure if that is because we’ve been in America so long. The eighteen-hundreds for a lot of us, or because we’ve accomplished so much as a people who is goes unnoticed.

The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives John Boehner, the highest ranking full-time member of Congress and that includes the Senate Pro Tempore and the Vice President of the United States, is a German-American and a proud one. And a distinct one, I mean you might as well paint the German flag on his face, he looks so German. And yet you wouldn’t know it unless you are familiar with the German people and German names and physical characteristics and so-forth. We’ve created so much for this country as far as technology, food, culture, public servants, Dwight Eisenhower for example. And yet we tend to go unnoticed as a people and perhaps get taken for granted.

When Nancy Pelosi became the first Speaker of the House in America back in 2007, she was mentioned as being the first female Speaker and Italian-American Speaker. But when John Boehner becomes Speaker four years later, nothing is mentioned about him being a German-American who also happens to be the Speaker. Same thing with Newt Gingrich back in 1995. Newt was mentioned as being the first Republican Speaker elected since 1953, but not for being a German-American. And again I think this goes to the success of our people that we are expected to do well and accomplish big things. And Americans just aren’t surprised when we do.

At risk of sounding simplistic, there’s a reason why we live on a planet with somewhere around a hundred-eighty countries or so and not live on a planet with no countries, but with one huge central authority in charge. Because we have different populations, people’s, cultures, values and everything else all over the planet. And what works in one country or even in a block of countries, might not work somewhere else with a completely different economy, with different resources, responsibilities, threats, populations and everything else.

My point is that U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and his supporters, the social democratic-left in America lets say, have a tendency to say, “this is how it’s done in Europe with government doing so much for their people and everything else. It seems to work there and their people love it. Which is why should adopt that economic system here and do it the European way”. Apparently unaware, or ignoring the obvious facts that Europe and the states there are completely different societies. That for one thing don’t even have to worry about their own national defense, because America is responsible for it.

Americans tend to be rugged, individualist, free, wanting to be able to make their own decisions and live their own lives. And in many cases hate to have to take any public or even private charity. And when they do, they tend to see that as some type of failure and have let themselves and their families down. Europe is the complete opposite of that and if anything love taking public assistance from their government and would riot if the government were to cut their public assistance. And freak out about having to pay for their own childcare out of their pocket and not taxes and actually have to take responsibility for themselves. And this is just an example of the culture differences.

Americans figured out a long time ago, well most of us did, our Socialists are still late to this dance, or still at the door, or not even there yet, perhaps sitting out the dance that there’s a limit to what we want government to do for us. That instead we want to be free as possible to take care of us as much as possible. And then if we run into financial trouble, like being out of a job and just lost our savings as part of that result, then we would want to be able to take public assistance in the short-term until we can get ourselves back on our feet. With a good job that gives us the freedom to do those things.

That’s the main difference from a liberal democracy, a liberal society the free society that the American Founding Fathers, the Founding Liberals wanted to create for America. And in the last two-hundred plus years we’ve worked as a country to improve our society so as many Americans as possible have that freedom to manage their own lives and Europe. Which is the opposite of that where they want to be taxed to the point where no one is completely free to take care of themselves. Because they believe when they move as a national unit, they move better with no one being too rich or poor and moving together.

So when Bernie Sanders Social Democrats say that, “Europe does it this way, so should we”, they are comparing Massachusetts with Texas. What is done in Massachusetts, is not wanted in Texas and vice-versa. Both states have figured out an economic system and government that works for them. But that doesn’t mean it will work for everyone in the country. Americans like being able to have the freedom to make their own decisions and you need your money in order to do that. Europeans at least in a lot of cases see that as selfish or materialistic and would freak out and even riot if their government’s forced them to take responsibility over their own lives. Just some of the differences between America and Europe.

Leathered Life

“SandraB Leather Model”

From Leathered Life

Short, but sweet video of Sandra one of the leather models at the website Leathered Life. Which I’m not sure is even still in business or not. I haven’t seen many videos or anything from them lately. But they were pretty hot in early 2009 when I got on YouTube and I checked out a lot of their videos when I got on YouTube. And a few of them are already on this blog and this will be another one. Lena is probably the only model that I really like there.

Sandra seems pretty sweet with a nice body, but Lena has everything including beauty and baby-face adorable looks. And a body that seems to be built for skinny jeans. Both denim and leather jeans with great curves. The woman in the video looks good with the leather jeans and boots and certainly worth checking out. Which is why I’m posting this and her outfit is certainly sexy. But I’ve rather of seen a leather jacket like a biker jacket to go with the jeans and boots. Instead of a long coat.

“Larissa – Topmodel in Miss Sixty Leather Pants”

From Leathered Life

Larissa is one of the beautiful brunettes over at Leathered Life who models Miss Sixty leather jeans for them. I don’t like her as much as Laura and Lena, but she’s very sexy in black leather.

Now here’s a woman whose not ashamed of at least one of her assets. I guess you sort of have to approve of your assets to be a fashion model, especially a leather model who wears skin-tight leather jeans on a regular basis, which is what Larissa does for Leathered Life.

Beautiful sexy woman in a leather jacket, boots and yes Miss Sixty leather jeans. And showing herself off in this outfit. I’m an Agnostic because I obviously don’t know if there is a God or multiple Gods or not, otherwise I wouldn’t be an Agnostic. But if there is a God, thank God for women like this and I hope he just continues to produce women like this. So guys such as myself can continue to check them out and blog about them and get the word out about them.

Videos like this would what the Christian Right and so-called Moral Majority would say are “immoral and should be banned and taken down by government”. Radical feminists would say “these videos are an example of women being abused and forced into pleasing the man and another example of male sexist power”, or something. The rest of us would say whether we like the video or not, here’s a professional model doing her job and the more people who see her, the better she does and the more power to her. That is where I am not only as a man, but as a Liberal who believes in free choice and expression.

“Many girls in leather pants… New clips today. ” Originally from Leathered Life, but the video has since been deleted or blocked on YouTube.

Love Lena, the beautiful baby-face adorable curvy brunette in this video. To me at least she’s the top model at this website, I guess called Leathered Life.

Sarah, very beautiful and cute, but sort of has an average body and none of the other models in this video got much of my attention.

But Lena is pretty special and a goddess in black leather jeans and looks great in those jeans with boots as well. And I just wish this was more footage of her and that she did other projects.

Leather jeans at least on women, are a lot more popular in Europe than in America. American women love skinny denim jeans and even skin-tight skinny denim jeans. But if they wear leather pants at all, they tend to be like dress slacks or leggings.

Leather jeans outside of biker and hard rock culture, are not that popular in America. Leathered Life and the company Miss Sixty that makes leather and denim jeans are the exception to that. But leather jeans for men and women are pretty popular in Europe.

Biker Women

Source: Leathered Life– Ricarda, in jeans in boots

“Mature biker lady in tight leather pants.” Originally from Leathered Life, but the video has since been deleted or blocked on YouTube.

There are a lot of YouTube videos of sexy women in tight leather and denim jeans. And the person shooting the video tends to call the women, mature to describe them. Even though these women are probably in their late thirties, or perhaps even mid-thirties and perhaps some cases early forties. Obviously not older women and at best in all cases early middle age women.

Which tells me the people and I guessing guys in most cases are really young, like in their early or mid-twenties and look like kids to someone who is about my age or even younger. I think this is just one characteristic of people from the Y Generation. People who are not like them and a bit older, but perhaps not a lot older, seem older than them, because they the 20th Century or something or parts of it.

The woman in this video is a beautiful sexy woman, who looks great in this biker outfit. A leather biker outfit with the leather jeans in boots. And I’m sure she is mature compared with someone who just turned old enough to drink legally in America. But she’s not only by any standard, except for someone who was perhaps just born yesterday.

“Jayne Mansfield dans “The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw

Source:Mel Kyche

The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw is a pretty good movie, but it was a great movie for Jayne Mansfield because it displayed all of her talents. She really wasn’t a Hollywood bimbo, but she wanted people to believe that for some reason and make money from it. She was very intelligent and talented and knew what she was doing, at least most of the time when she was sober. And had great comedic, as well as singing and dancing talents, that allowed her to do so many different things.

Jayne Mansfield could’ve been a full-time actress, singer or comedian, but instead used all of those talents generally at the same time. And as a result made a big star for her herself. And it is too bad she just didn’t live much longer, instead of dying at the age of thirty-four in 1967. Had she took care of herself, she might still be performing today in her early eighties.

Jayne Mansfield was never a full-time actress, at least not dramatic actress. She was a full-time entertainer, even when she wasn’t technically working. I think she’s one of the best comedians of her generation and from that 1950s and 60s era, where a lot of comedians from that generation, made a lot of their money in films and TV and doing a lot of musical comedies. Which is how Jayne made her living in and out of Hollywood.

ABC News_ Weekend Report (October, 1979)

Source:ABC News– covering Pop John Paul’s trip to Washington, in 1979.

You can also see this post at FRS FreeState, on WordPress.

“Opening minutes of the October 7 1979 edition of ABC News’ Weekend Report, anchored by Barry Serafin and devoted to Pope John Paul II’s visit to the United States.”

From Rob Atsea

Pope John Paul is intriguing to me, because he’s someone who gave both the Religious-Right as well as Liberals such as myself, things to admire about him with all of his strong religious-conservative stances on social issues for the Religious-Right. And his call for freedom for Eastern Europeans and others which is what Liberals liked about him and escaping from authoritarianism in those slavic countries like Poland where he was from.

Pope John Paul, was a strong voice against authoritarianism, at least from the Far-Left like with communism. But like others with the Christian-Right had authoritarian views when it came to homosexuality, women’s place in the world and reproductive rights.

I don’t want to say I see Pope Paul as a mix bag, because by in-large I believe he was a great man. But he did has some at least very traditional religious cultural views when it came to individualism and again women’s place in the world. And not believing women should take leadership roles in the Catholic Church.

But again where I go back and forth with Pope Paul was that he was against communism and authoritarianism in Eastern Europe. Especially in the Slavic countries like his home country Poland and Russia. And what I also like about the man as a Liberal was his calls for peace and charity and helping people in poverty and assisting people in the developing world. Which is where a lot of religious conservative churches tend to be on these issues. And truly believe in the Christian value of looking after most vulnerable and assisting people in need. Which is what Catholic Charities and other Christian groups do.
